Revelation 21:1-2, "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."
From what the Scriptures teach you, God's Eternal Order in heaven is permanent. Then what does John mean when he writes about a "new heaven?"
Psalm 119:89 reads, "Forever, Lord, Your word stands in heaven."
If God's word stands firm in heaven forever, how can there be a new heaven? As you know, there are three heavens:
- Heaven
- The Stellar Heaven
- The Atmospheric Heaven
It stands to reason that God's heaven of heavens will be like Him--never changing!
Therefore, if there is going to be a "new heaven," then doesn't it seem logical that the new heaven has to do with both the Stellar Heaven and the Atmospheric Heaven. Jesus tells you, "But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken" (Matthew 24:29).
Obviously, the Stellar Heaven will be changed. Notice from Revelation 21:1 above, there earth is changed. There is no sea. Since the evaporation of the sea causes the rains to come, then the atmosphere will definitely be changed when there is no sea on earth.
